Facing overcrowding and safety concerns. Southern Idaho Solid Waste (SISW), the County’s solid waste district, hired Great West Engineering as part of a Design-Build Team to expand and improve the facility. A new waste transfer building was constructed allowing full-time facility operations during construction along with a new wood waste tipping area, site grading and drainage improvements, and provisions for a new access road and automated commercial scale.
