Kasey Ketterling Joins The Great West Engineering Team

We are pleased to announce that Kasey Ketterling has joined the Great West Engineering team in our Boise office. This marks an exciting opportunity for the local office as we continue to grow our municipal expertise by adding an experienced professional engineer and municipal leader with over 20 years of experience serving communities in the Treasure Valley and the Pacific Northwest.

As the son of a third generation Idaho farmer, Kasey grew up in Rupert, Idaho. He credits his love of Idaho’s hometown attitude with endless opportunities through hard work and grit to the legacy of working beside his dad and grandpa as they wove the fabric that founded the west as the right place to grow up, raise your family, and build a life for yourself.  Even though he found his way to a civil engineering career with a master’s degree in structural engineering, Kasey continues to live in the country with long views of the sunset, chickens pecking around, and plenty of “hay to be made.”

Kasey made his original mark in the Treasure Valley, serving small communities as their designated engineer. This remains one of the foundational goals of his practice as he aims to continue this service for Great West’s growing client base.  Early in his career, with a few years under his belt, he was afforded the essential role as the City Engineer for Eagle, Idaho, for more than a decade as it grew from a median-sized rural community to the vibrant hot-spot along the Boise River. In this role, he gained a wealth of knowledge about managed high-quality growth, interagency coordination, and the value of being a good communicator. For the last decade, Kasey has worked on a large variety of municipal projects for a broad range of communities. He is known for his ability to bridge the gap between technical engineers, city staff, and the general public, ensuring all stakeholders understand the project’s necessity, the challenges, and the goals that should remain in focus.

Kasey joins a growing team in the Treasure Valley to assist with managing projects while seeking new opportunities to serve communities.  Known for his optimism and desire to form meaningful and productive relationships, Kasey will be an invaluable asset to the team; helping to grow and develop our engineers while improving customer service to our clients. Kasey’s country roots will serve him well as most communities in this area are built on the tired backs of hard-working American farmers. He understands that Idaho and the Pacific Northwest face a challenging future that is desperately trying to find the balance between accommodated growth and retaining the rural heartbeat that has nourished and sustained the area for hundreds of years. Kasey is excited to use his two decades of experience facilitating discussions and partnering with communities that speak his language as they work to grow and maintain their infrastructure and more importantly retain their identify as the best place to grow up, raise a family, and put in a hard day’s work. To contact Kasey or learn more about how Great West Engineering can serve your community, email him at [email protected] or reach him by phone at (208) 207-7360.
